You may have noticed that we don't sell alcohol (the lovely people at Cornelus next door are the experts there) but that's where the lovely people at Cairn o' Mohr come in. 

Braes o' Gowrie Sparkling Elderflower Drink
Ok elderflower is pretty common and it can be a little one note and somethings a bit too hard on the aroma, but we were really impressed with this one. It's light with a hint of citrus, floral without feeling like you are in a candle shop. Something nice and simple.

It's autumn partner. Did you know elder flower and berry come from the same tree? The same plant but very different flavours. This is more like your deep red wine BUT it has a little elderflower in it too! Deep and rich cut through with a hint of light floral to finish. 

Braes O' Gowrie Sparkling Rhubarb Drink
Now this one is extra special (maybe it's us impatiently waiting for rhubarb season to start). This is no one note rhubarb drink, it's got sweet Cecily*, ginger and mint in the mix too so you get that tang of rhubarb with some spice and that... what is that I can taste?? That's the mint!

*An aniseed-scented plant.

This flavour has been a popular one this year. We have two different eggs this flavour. Cherry and Almond! The classic bakewell tart combo. Not something we were expecting to be made this year but not complaining. It's a very tasty combo. 

Ok let's work from the outside in. 

The 'meat' wrapping is is TVP* based spiced with coriander, ginger, mace, nutmeg and black pepper for that tasty sausage meat taste. Nice. Perfect. Let's move onto the inside. 

*(textured soya protein) tastes better than it sounds. An old school vegan staple you can get in store. Great mince replacement for chilli, bolognese, shepherds pie etc



Look at that 'egg'. It's perfection! No overcooked grey smelly egg. 

This is made with soya, potato and lentils. We've tried them (check out or taste test) and it has a proper boiled egg texture. Well. From what we can remember them being like. 

Now on to the flavours! 

 

They make two more flavours we don't have yet. 

Jambo - East African curry flavoured exterior made with curried spinach, ginger, coriander, cumin and mustard.

Taste of the East - flavoured with chilli, garlic, shallots and Thai basil.

Move over Califia there is a new pistachio milk in town. Barista edition too so you can add it to your morning cuppa for that extra touch of decadence. 

Or add it to cereal. Why not! 

it all started off with their incredible pistachio spread which personally I've just eaten with a spoon straight from the jar. I'm sure it's nice on other things but that's as far as I've got. 

Rhythm 108 have however taken it further and now do a pistachio version of their little stuffed cookies.

Now... hear me out. Stuffed cookie topped with more pistachio spread? 

When looking at what to say about LoofCo we just found out its a combination of Loofa + Coconut. Which explains this scrubber being made of coconut fibre. You learn something every day!
